Background
Jonathan Beauford combines his background in Psychology from Princeton (BA) and NYU (MA), with business acumen from Yale (MBA), and nearly 10 years at Google leading dynamic high-performing teams across recruiting, talent development, and performance management. He has 14+ years of experience building, leading, and managing teams, including developing innovative talent systems, tools, metrics, and learning experiences.
His freelance work started back in 2015 with training and retreats for new People Managers, but the science behind it originated in his senior thesis at Princeton, which detailed the mediating factors of intrinsic motivation as posited by self-determination theory. This study of human behavior continued into his graduate research on automatic attitude change and was put into practice immediately in his work on youth development and people management. Over a decade in corporate talent management, he added new tools, refined them, and scaled them up and down, from single small teams to entire 150,000-employee companies.
Every framework and product in Work For People has been implemented and proven to be effective in real workplaces with real people with real problems.
Jonathan is happy to work with organizations across all locations and industries, but he is physically based in the San Francisco Bay Area of California.
